1999 ATP TOURNAMENT THE CINCINNATI ENQUIRER MONDAY, AUGUST 9, 1999
ATP CHAMPIONSHIP
Honoring a century of tournament tennis

Cincinnati once again welcomes The Great American Insurance ATP Tournament.

From the 1890s to the 1990s, the Queen City boasts a rich tennis tradition.

Twenty-nine Hall of Fame players have won titles here, dating back to the 1899 Tri-State Tennis Tournament, which preceded the Western Tennis Championships, which preceded the ATP Championships.

The Enquirer takes a decade-by-decade look at the history of tournament tennis here.

We also take a glace at what's going on in the ATP world today -- both on the court and off -- as well as what you'll need to get in the gate at the ATP Tennis Center in Mason.
