Both of Cincinnati's head coaches, Bob Huggins of UC and Skip Prosser of Xavier, are expected to be considered for the vacant Ohio State men's basketball coaching job.
Huggins spent two seasons as an assistant to Eldon Miller at Ohio State, 1978-1980.
Also considered: Clemson's Rick Barnes, Stanford's Mike Montgomery and two of the hottest young coaches, Steve Alford of Southwest Missouri State and Kevin Stallings of Illinois State.
The OSU job is considered one of the best in college basketball because of the program's tradition, resources and recruiting base.
The state has produced McDonald's All-Americans Chris Kingsbury of Hamilton, Damon Flint of Woodward, Jason Collier of Springfield and Kenny Gregory of Columbus in recent years. None of them played at Ohio State.
