Basketball director leaves

Wednesday, July 22, 1998

BY MIKE DeCOURCY
The Cincinnati Enquirer

University of Cincinnati director of basketball operations Frank Jessie has left UC to accept a position as athletic director for the Maple Heights school district in suburban Cleveland.

Jessie, who coordinated scheduling and travel for the Bearcats and served as a liaison with Athletic Director Bob Goin, coached at Maple Heights during part of the 26 years he spent in the Ohio public school system.

A native of Akron who played at the University of Akron, Jesse joined Bob Huggins' staff there and coached from 1984-87. He became the restricted-earnings coach in Huggins' UC program in 1995 and spent two seasons on the bench before moving into administration. Jesse worked his final day at UC last Friday.
