UC Hall of Fame to add six




        The University of Cincinnati has announced six new inductees into its Jim Kelly Athletic Hall of Fame, including several who earned All-America honors.

        The new inductees:

        • Caroline Cooper, who earned 12 All-America designations in several events as a UC swimmer in the mid-1980s.

        • Pat Evans, who won an NCAA men's diving title in 1989.

        • Lewis Johnson, who earned All-America honors in track in 1987 and went on to become an ABC-TV sports reporter.

        • Robert Miller, who helped the men's basketball team to three NCAA tournament appearances in the mid-1970s.

        • Bev Obringer, who earned All-America mention and led UC to an NCAA tournament in women's basketball.

        • Gary Yoder, who earned All-America mention and led UC's strong men's basketball teams of the mid-1970s.

        The six will be enshrined at a special luncheon Saturday, Oct. 16 at the UCATS Club in Shoemaker Center. The luncheon begins at 11 a.m. and is open to the public. Reservations are $12 and may be made by calling the UC athletic department, 556-4884.
