UC's Molony qualifies for NCAA tennis

        Junior Kara Molony (Notre Dame Academy) because the first NCAA individual qualifier in University of Cincinnati women's tennis history when she was one of 64 players selected to participate in the national tournament May 22-26 at Pepperdine University in Malibu, Calif.

        The Conference USA co-Tennis Player of the Year broke records for singles wins in a season (36) and career (86), combined wins in a season (53) and career (136), consecutive matches won (19) and winning percentage (.900). She ended the season with a perfect 23-0 record at No. 1 singles, including a 6-0 mark against Conference USA foes, and was 36-4 overall.

        The Fort Mitchell, Ky., native also became the first UC player to earn a national ranking, currently 83rd in the latest intercollegiate Tennis Association poll while helping Cincinnati to a 17-6 record.
