UC's Jones looks for December return
By Michael Perry
The Cincinnati Enquirer
UC junior Antwan Jones had surgery on his right foot Monday and is expected to be back on the court in 10 to 12 weeks, said team orthopedic surgeon Dr. Angelo Colosimo.
We're shooting for 10 weeks, Colosimo said. That's terribly optimistic, but it could happen.
Jones, a 6-foot-7 small forward from Tallahassee Community College whom many expected to start, broke his foot and had a screw inserted in May, and it had not healed completely.
Colosimo, who performed the operation at University Hospital, refastened the fracture using a bigger screw and grafted some bone taken from Jones' upper leg to the fracture.
I'm real happy with the way it went, Colosimo said. It's pretty straightforward. We probably do four or five of those a year just on our athletes.
