UC names offensive coordinator
Baldwin was head coach at San Jose State
Dave Baldwin, former head coach at San Jose State University, has been named offensive coordinator of the University of Cincinnati football team, UC announced Wednesday.
Baldwin was head coach at San Jose State for the past four years, and the team's 7-5 record in 2000 was the school's best since 1992. A statement released by San Jose State said Baldwin, who was 18-27 at the school, turned down a three-year extension to a contract that expired after the 2000 season. Reportedly, a change in athletic directors influenced Baldwin's departure.
Baldwin's team ranked 17th in the nation in scoring last year, at 31.2 points a game.
Baldwin replaces Joe Daniels, who left to become quarterbacks coach at Ohio State.
