UC gets unofficial visit from Hicks
By Michael Perry
The Cincinnati Enquirer
Eric Hicks, a 6-foot-7, 235-pound power forward from Greensboro (N.C.) Dudley High School, took an unofficial visit to UC last week.
Hicks said Thursday he plans to take at least three official visits (Cincinnati, Connecticut and Tennessee) before deciding and may take all five he is allowed.
Hicks is the 70th-rated high school senior by BlueChipHoops.com.
LITTLE TRIAL: Donald Little is scheduled for a Sept.5 jury trial on an assault charge from a May incident at In the Woods Tavern. UC officials have not ruled out Little's reinstatement to the team. He was dismissed in May for conduct detrimental to the basketball program.
GRADE-A: Throughout the summer, CBS SportsLine.com's Dan Wetzel has compiled best of lists, rating college coaches, players, arenas and for his final act programs.
Guess what area dominated the last list? The Tristate has five of the 10 teams, including the one at the top.
The ranking: 1.Kentucky, 2.UCLA, 3.Indiana, 4.North Carolina, 5.Duke, 6.Kansas, 7.Louisville, 8.Ohio State, 9.Cincinnati, 10.Michigan State.
Kentucky's Adolph Rupp (No.5) and Bob Knight (No.4) of Indiana, oops, Texas A&M, made the list of top coaches, and UC's Oscar Robertson (No.5) and Indiana State's Larry Bird (No.6) were among the best players.
