Seven points and four rebounds isn't exactly Kenyon Martin-like, but for this season's University of Cincinnati basketball team, those numbers from the center position seem prolific.
The Bearcats, who have received next to nothing from their post players this season, received a credible performance at that spot against Miami Saturday from junior Derek Hollman, who was making his third start of the season, his first since Nov. 26 against Florida A&M.
With Hollman helping open things offensively, the Bearcats (6-3) shot 47.7 percent from the field, well above their 39.1 percent average - and defeated Miami 66-54 before 14,276 fans at U.S. Bank Arena.
Miami (3-6) shot just 38 percent against a UC defense that holds opponents to exactly that number on average.
Junior guard Field Williams emerged from his shooting slump, scoring 11 points on 3-of-5 shooting from beyond the 3-point arc.

UC made six of 11 3-pointers for 54.5 percent, its best mark this season.
"That's nice to see," UC coach Bob Huggins said.
But it was Hollman's modest contribution that really pleased the UC coach.
Hollman, who missed last season after undergoing shoulder surgery Nov.5, started UC's first two games this season but then was relegated to the bench for long stretches.
He didn't score his first points as a college player until last Sunday against Clemson.
"He kept working," Huggins said. "He didn't sulk. He didn't make excuses. He came in and worked every day."
Hollman said he understands now what it means to work hard in practice.
"I realized it's an everyday thing," Hollman said. "You can't afford to take a day off."

Senior forward Leonard Stokes led UC with 18 points. His layup with 1:49 to go gave him 1,001 points for his career, making him the 40th player in UC history to reach the 1,000-point plateau.
Miami forward Danny Horace, the RedHawks' second leading scorer at 10.6 points a game, fouled out with 8:39 remaining. He scored five points and pulled down four rebounds.
Leading by eight at the half, the Bearcats increased the lead to 10 on a Taron Barker 3-pointer with 16:37 left.
On Miami's next possession, UC forward Jason Maxiell was called for his fourth foul and replaced by freshman Armein Kirkland, leaving the Bearcats without their best rebounder.
But the Bearcats survived without Maxiell, who didn't re-enter the game until the 3:52 mark, with UC leading 60-50.
Kirkland played 28 minutes, the longest stint of his brief college career, and scored a career-high six points with five rebounds.
UC got off to a horrible start, falling behind 8-1.
"They knew what they wanted to do," said Miami coach Charlie Coles. "And that was to go inside and then let Stokes do what he does. Then Field Williams hurt us with a couple of threes and that was about the game."
