First round: Gonzaga (23-8): The Bulldogs, in their fifth straight tournament, are everybody's NCAA sweethearts. Just don't call them Cinderellas. The teams have squared off only once before - during the 1999 Rock-N-Roll Shootout in Cleveland (UC won 75-68).
Second round: Arizona (25-3): The Wildcats were most people's preseason pick to win the national championship, and they're going to be plenty of folks' choice now, as well. UC is 0-3 against Arizona.
Sweet 16: Illinois (24-6): The Illini will have a tough second-round game against Notre Dame in Indianapolis. The Bearcats have not played Illinois since 1984-85.
Elite Eight: Kansas (25-7): Never mind the Bearcats. The Jayhawks would have to beat Duke in the Sweet 16 to reach this game.
Semifinals: Kentucky (29-3): If only.
Final: Texas (22-6) or Oklahoma (24-6): Should UC get this far, nobody will care who the opponent is. But just in case, remember that Longhorns point guard T.J. Ford took a recruiting visit to UC and decided against the Bearcats.
