Conference move

By Bill Koch
The Cincinnati Enquirer

TAMPA, Fla. - The University of Cincinnati officially will be headed to the Big East Conference on Tuesday afternoon.

Both UC and the Big East have scheduled press conferences for 2 p.m. - the Big East in New York, and UC at its Kingsgate Conference Center on campus.

"I'm tremendously excited," UC athletic director Bob Goin said Friday night before the UC-USF football game. "It's not only a press conference. It's a celebration."

In addition to UC, Louisville, DePaul, Marquette and South Florida will leave Conference USA for the Big East beginning competition in 2005-06.
