UC's Pilgrim will redshirt

By Bill Koch
The Cincinnati Enquirer

University of Cincinnati basketball coach Bob Huggins has confirmed that forward Mike Pilgrim will redshirt this year.

Pilgrim suffered a stress fracture in his foot shortly after practice began in October and has not practiced since.

"We've pretty much assumed that he would (redshirt)," Huggins said. "He's so far behind, he'll never catch up."

Pilgrim, a 6-7 freshman, played at Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro, N.H., last year and averaged 13.5 points and 9.0 rebounds. Two years ago, he averaged 17.9 points and 9.0 rebounds at Purcell Marian High School.
