UC not taking Army lightly

MU, OSU host league games

Enquirer staff reports

The University of Cincinnati does not want to be the team against which Army breaks its 19-game losing streak - longest in the nation.

The Bearcats (2-3) take on the Black Nights (0-4) at 1 p.m. today in West Point, N.Y.

"There's not a whole lot of margin for error for us," Army coach Bobby Ross said.

The same could be said for the Bearcats, coming off a loss to UAB last week. Also today:

• Ohio State, which dropped to No. 18 in the country after losing to Northwestern last week, hosts No. 15 Wisconsin at 3:30 p.m. in Columbus.

The undefeated Badgers have won two straight at Ohio Stadium.

• Miami (2-3) got a scare from Kent State (1-4) a year ago but doesn't want that again when it hosts the Golden Flashes at 2 p.m. today in Yager Stadium. Doug Martin is Kent's new coach.

• No. 7 California (3-0) plays No. 1 Southern Cal (4-0) for only the second time in the last 52 years when both are ranked in the top 10.

• No. 5 Texas (4-0) and No. 2 Oklahoma (4-0) play each other while ranked in the top five for the third time under their current coaches.
