Enquirer news services

The University of Cincinnati put nine football players on the All-Conference USA team, announced by the league Monday.

UC first-teamers were offensive tackle Jason Fabini, linebackers Phillip Curry and Brad Jackson and safety Tinker Keck. Keck also was named the C-USA return specialist of the year, after returning four punts for touchdowns this season.

Fabini earned first-team honors for the third straight year. UC second-teamers were defensive end Derrick Ransom, offensive tackle Pierre Brilliant, and center Brian Uhl.

Safety DeJuan Gossett and kickoff specialist Jason Mammarelli made the all-freshman team.

Balloting was done by league coaches and media.
