Winton Woods, Roger Bacon poll champions
         The Winton Woods boys basketball team, coming off its second consecutive 20-0 season, also has won its second straight Enquirer Division I poll championship.

         Winton Woods is The Enquirer's coaches poll champion following its 20-0 season, but beginning Tuesday, those credentials won't mean much.

         Freshman Ryan Patzwald scored a career-high 15 points on perfect shooting to lead Anderson to a 71-36 win over Turpin on Saturday.
N.Ky. boys basketball games
         Jimmy Horstman scored his 2,000th career point during Silver Grove's 64-58 win over Ludlow on Saturday.

Madeira wins third straight CHL title
        What a way to win a league title: with last-minute free throws by a player who has faced state championship pressure.
Cincinnati Hills League games
         Finneytown senior guard Zac Busam scored 33 points - including 17 of 18 free throws — in a 76-74 victory over Wyoming.
Fort Ancient Valley Conference games
         P.J. Mills scored 29 points to lead Winton Woods to a 68-44 victory over Harrison, completing the Warriors' second consecutive undefeated regular season.
Greater Cincinnati League games
         Matt Sylvester scored 22 points to lead Moeller past LaSalle 67-51 Friday night, giving the Crusaders the Greater Catholic League South championship.
Greater Miami Conference games
         Chris McGrath scored 18 points to lift Princeton to a 61-59 upset of GMC champion Oak Hills.
Miami Valley Conference games
         The MVC will have co-champions: Cincinnati Country Day and Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy.
N.Ky. boys basketball games
         Conner couldn't hold a five-point lead entering the fourth quarter but survived to beat Dixie Heights 76-74 in overtime.
Queen City Conference games
         Will Jeffries and Pierre Darden combined to score 13 points in the second quarter to lead Withrow to a 58-45 victory over Taft.
Southern Buckeye Conference games
         Williamburg used a full-court press in the fourth quarter to hold Felicity to seven points and take a 70-62 win.
Other Cincinnati area games
         Senior guard Ryan Holmes scored a season-high 25 points to lead Talawanda over Lemon-Monroe 68-44.

Roger Bacon has seen streak of success
         In evaluating candidates for the title of team that has made the most progress this boys basketball season, Roger Bacon is hard to overlook.

Cincinnati boys basketball game
         Sophomore Luke Trenz scored 15 points to lead Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy over Summit Country Day 63-49.
• Wednesday's Games

         Branden Fisher's uncontested layup following a steal with 10 seconds remaining in the second overtime, gave Mariemont a 65-64 victory over Madeira.
• Tuesday's Games
Cincinnati boys basketball games
         Moeller made 24 of 30 free throws, including 16 of 22 in the fourth quarter, to beat Roger Bacon 67-49 and clinch at least a tie in the GCL South division with St.Xavier.
N.Ky. boys basketball games
         Senior forward Thomas Petty scored nine of his 24 points in the fourth quarter to help Newport hold off Holy Cross 69-64 at Holy Cross.
• Cincinnati boys sectional draw
West Hi jumps in with No. 1 Winton Woods
         Few coaches ask their players which team they'd prefer to play in the sectional tournament. Lannis Timmons, coach of No.3 Western Hills, is the exception.
