Greater Cincinnati is a transportation center for the nation. More than half of the nation's population is located within 600 miles.

By air

The Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport in Kenton County is Delta Air Lines' second largest hub, with 50 gates, and home to a leading regional airline, Comair.

The airport serves 13 airlines with more than 500 daily departures, including non-stop international service to London, Paris, Zurich, Frankfurt and Montreal.

It is ranked seventh in the world for overall passenger convenience.

Also, it is a major cargo center for DHL Worldwide Express.

North of Cincinnati, another cargo carrier, Airborne Express, has a primary hub in Wilmington, Ohio.

By interstate

Three interstates (I-75, I-71 and I-74) criss-cross the region and link it with the nation. There are 20 major metro areas within one day's driving time (400 miles). Interstate 75 runs north-south from Windsor, Ontario, to Key West, Fla.

By rail

The area is served by three major railroad systems (CSX Corp., Norfolk Southern Corp. and Conrail).

One hundred freight trains arrive and depart daily, and nearly 2 million loaded cars are handled in Greater Cincinnati each year.

By river

More than 46 million tons pass through Cincinnati on the Ohio each year.

The Port of Cincinnati is served by 32 barge lines.

Several passenger carriers ply the river.
