Hello, and welcome to the Bluegrass State. With a few keystrokes you've found what I spend lots of hours and gasoline searching for each week: Kentucky. The real Kentucky. The state I love. The people I meet as I wind along Ky. 19 or U.S. 27 now live along the information superhighway, and you can meet them, too. Right here.
The state of the heart has become the state of the art; Kentucky's in cyberspace. So buckle up and come with me: To the roadside places in growing Northern Kentucky. To the hills of Appalachia and the horse pastures of Central Kentucky. To the western coalfields and lakes. It's some trip.
I've written stories from every corner of Kentucky during my 12 years as a journalist, and I still love traveling the state. But I could always use some company. I'll get you back in time for dinner, I promise. And maybe, just maybe, you'll find that the information superhighway seems, for a welcome change, like the Mountain Parkway as it wanders through the lush hills at Slade.
