This reality's better than the dream

When Dave Agee was serving with the U.S. Air Force in Vietnam during the '60s, he dreamed of owning a 1966 Corvette. Now the Crestview Hills, Ky., resident has turned that dream into reality.

Dave Agee of Crestview Hills drives his dream car. It's a 1966 maroon Corvette. When he's driving it, he gets the thumbs-up from cops and "I'm not worthy" bows from drivers of newer Corvettes.

"The 1966 has significance for me because that's the year I entered the military, and shortly was off to Vietnam," Agee said. "I daydreamed about the '66 Corvette. It stands for everything American - its systems, politics, freedom and strength."

First car: A 1951 Dodge, purchased with his paper delivery money. It was dark blue with light primer spots. "It was great because I could fit my full set of drums in it with space left over."

Dream car: Already driving his dream car, the 1966 Corvette. "If I have to tell you why I am driving it, you wouldn't understand anyway."
