Katie French, a junior at Cincinnati Country Day in West Chester, drives a 1993 Dodge Caravan like none you've ever seen before. The ride, which has 190,000 miles, is painted red, blue, yellow, green, pink and purple.

And it has rainbows on it.

"A lot of kids get new cars when they get their (driving permits), and I got my mom's very old van," says French.

"Yay.

"So to make it fun and more cool, we painted it. It was actually my mom's idea."

It also has beads glued to the dashboard, a bobble-head dog and doorbeads in the back window.

Next Car: The van isn't going to last forever with 190,000 miles. But French hopes it gets her to college. And then she'll get whatever she can afford.

Dream Car: "Granted the van is old, but I really like that it's painted. I want a car that ... I could do whatever I want to it."
