CLEVELAND - The Cyclones' streak at Gund Arena ended Saturday when they lost to the Cleveland Lumberjacks 5-4.
Cincinnati had posted a 6-0-1 record in its previous seven games in the building. Its last defeat there came on Dec. 18, 1994.
The Cyclones fell despite scoring three power-play goals in a game for only the second time this season. Cleveland was also the opponent the other time, last Nov. 6 in a 4-1 victory.
Cincinnati led 3-2 late in the second period when Cleveland's Jock Callander and Ed Patterson scored only one minute and 11 seconds apart, not counting the period break. The Cyclones, winners of only four of their last 11 games, came back to tie the game
4-4 on Todd Hawkins eighth goal of the season.
Brian Bonin scored the game-winning goal on a power play with 9:52 elapsed in the final period, beating Cyclones goalie Todd MacDonald. It was MacDonald's first start in two weeks.
The teams meet again at 1:30 p.m. today at Gund Arena.
