Sunday's mild, sunny weather was ideal for football, leaf-raking and other outdoor fall chores - but an abrupt change in temperatures is upon us.
The Tristate is expected to get a preview of winter later this week. Snow is expected to move into the area on Thursday and Friday, but it's too early to tell how much will fall, said Mike Gallagher with the National Weather Service in Wilmington.
In the meantime, temperatures today are expected to hit the mid-40s with a 40 percent chance of showers, Mr. Gallagher said. Tonight, temperatures should fall to the mid-30s with a chance of rain, he said.
On Tuesday, the weather service predicts variable cloudiness with highs again in the mid-40s. Temperatures are to drop by Wednesday, with highs through the rest of the week to hit the mid-30s.
