    Memorial fund

  • Fifth Third Bank is accepting donations at area locations for the Dan Pope-Ron Jeter Memorial Fund, which will be given to the families to help with funeral costs.

    Benefits, tributes

  • The Council of Christian Communions and the Intercommunity Justice and Peace Center are sponsoring a prayer vigil at 5 p.m. Monday at 23 W. Hollister St., where Spc. Ronald Jeter and Officer Daniel Pope were killed. Organizers invite everyone to pray with them at the site.

  • A benefit for the families of the officers will be Dec. 18 at Local 1207 (1207 Main St., Over-the- Rhine; 651-1207).

    O-Six, the Warsaw Falcons - Big Bill Pickle & the Jerkin' Gherkins and Marsha Brady will perform. Food will be provided by Precinct chef Jimmy Gibson and Findlay Market vendors.

    The benefit begins at 8 p.m., the music at 9. Admission, including food, is $5. All proceeds and tips will go into a trust fund for the officers' families. The event is sponsored by Q102 radio.

  • A memorial service for the two officers will be held Dec. 22 from noon to 1 p.m. at Albert B. Sabin Convention Center. Clergy from various denominations will preside over the tribute - prayer service.

  • Jacor-owned radio station WVMX-FM (94.1 MHz) is playing a ''Police Tribute'' song that is available for $10. Proceeds will go to a trust fund set up for the slain officers at Star Bank, which also is accepting donations.

    The tribute song is Blessid Union of Souls' ''I Believe'' mixed with excerpts of listeners' reflections and the dispatcher ordering police units to the apartment where the officers were gunned down. Copies are available at the station, 1906 Highland Ave.
