Second-half collapse dooms Miami

TOLEDO, Ohio - Lebanon High graduate Casey Shaw scored 27 points for Toledo in a 63-50 victory Thursday night over Miami.

Art Norman with 10 was the only other player in double figures for the Rockets (12-6 overall, 7-3 Mid-American Conference). Anthony Taylor scored 16, John Estick 14 and Damon Frierson 11 for the RedHawks (10-8, 4-6).

Miami led 32-30 at halftime. Toledo took control with a 10-0 run that ended with a basket by Shaw that put the Rockets ahead 51-40 with 8:21 to play. Norman and Shaw each scored four points during that spurt.

Toledo was 12-for-22 from the floor for 54.5 percent in the second half while limiting Miami to seven field goals in 27 attempts for 25.9 percent. The Rockets won despite a 43-32 rebounding edge by Miami.
