Humana Inc. has decided not to relocate ChoiceCare's claims processing and customer service center, a move that will keep about 140 jobs in Cincinnati and allow doctors to continue using a local office for claims information. --

Louisville-based Humana acquired Greater Cincinnati's largest HMO last year. Many expected the deal would result in consolidating many ChoiceCare administrative operations in Louisville.

Search is on for bank robber

HAMILTON -- Police were searching Monday night for a person who robbed the Citizens Federal Bank at 1510 Plaza Drive.

The person -- police did not say whether it was a man or woman -- walked into the bank at 5:38 p.m. and handed a teller a note demanding money, police said. The person fled on foot with an undetermined amount of cash.

One charge against activist dropped

Child-endangerment charges against community activist Nathaniel Livingston Jr.were dismissed Monday in Hamilton County Common Pleas Court.

Defense attorneys told Judge David Davis their client should not be tried for the misdemeanor because he was not given a speedy trial. Mr. Livingston was arrested on charges of child endangerment and felonious assault Dec. 30 after his estranged wife told police he tried to drive away while she was taking their child out of the car.

His trial started Monday, more than 90 days after the charges, the maximum a defendant on trial for a misdemeanor can wait.

The trial on felonious assault will resume Monday at 8:30 a.m.

2 "Most Wanted' are under arrest

Two more "Tristate's Most Wanted" suspects have been arrested, bringing the total to 413 arrests out of the 709 suspects featured in the Enquirer.

Jabari Dailey, 26, of Clifton Heights was arrested Sunday on an aggravated-robbery charge.

Annette Williams, 41, of Walnut Hills was arrested Monday on a robbery charge.

The Enquirer publishes "Tristate's Most Wanted" each Monday. Crime Stoppers will pay up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Callers to 352-3040 can remain anonymous.

Homicide detectives want to question man

Cincinnati homicide investigators have made one arrest in connection with the Feb. 25 shooting death of an Over-the-Rhine man but want to question someone else.

Police want to question a man identified only as "Akeen,"who is in his mid-20s and is 6-foot-1 with a medium build.

"Akeen" may have information about the death of Thomas Dukes Jr., known as "T-Tucker," killed last month, said Sgt. McKinley Brown of the homicide unit.

Mr. Dukes died on his 26th birthday outside Fast Freddie's, a bar on Walnut Street in Over-the-Rhine.

Mailon "Lear" Curtis, 27, of Mount Auburn faces charges of complicity to murder, felonious assault, tampering with evidence and obstructing justice.

Seven students OK in school bus wreck

OWENSVILLE STONELICK TOWNSHIP -- A pickup slid into a school bus Monday afternoonon a curve on Hutchinson-Newtonsville Road near Brushy Fork Road.

None of the seven children from the Williamsburg school district was injured aboard the Settle Service bus. But they were transported to Clermont Mercy Hospital as a precaution, Owensville Fire Chief Blaine Chetwood said.

The truck's driver and passenger, whose names were unavailable Monday, received minor injures. Emergency medical personnel from Goshen and Wayne townships assisted Owensville.

Patient leaps from life squad

A Cincinnati Heart Mini Marathon runner suffering from heat exhaustion Sunday jumped from an ambulance at Interstate 75 and Hopple Street as a rescue crew took him to the hospital.

Police said Michael McBride, 40, struggled with officers as they tried to calm him and take him for medical evaluation. He was not charged.

Damage from fire put at $150,000

TATE TOWNSHIP -- A fire caused extensive damage Monday morning to a home on Sugar Tree Road, Bethel-Tate fire officials said.

No one was home and there were no injuries. Two dogs perished in the blaze.

Assistant Fire Chief Bob Krekeler said a neighbor noticed the fire at the home of Butch Brashear, and called firefighters shortly after 8 a.m. Assistant Chief Krekeler said the fire appeared to have been electrical.He estimated damage at $150,000.

Batavia-Monroe-Ohio-Pierce and Monroe Township fire departments assisted.
