As the tax-time tempo kicks into a frenzy, some in post office lines will be chilling out with a smoothie.

Anticipating long waits and weary customers, postal employees and some Tristate entrepreneurs are planning snacks and entertainment for those racing to meet today's deadline.

Early morning customers at the Covington Post Office on Scott Street might find some local radio personalities inside.

At the Main Post Office on Cincinnati's Dalton Avenue, Mix 94.1 will broadcast from 6 to 10 a.m., complete with a booth for dunking a pseudo Tax Man.

Customers using the Dalton Avenue drive-through will get free smoothies from Pierre's French Ice Cream Co. from 5 to 6:30 p.m. and from 10 to 11:30 p.m. Bruegger's Bagel Co. will pass out free red, white and blue bagels from 9 to 11 p.m.

Taxpayers will also get a chance to sign a petition by the National Federation of Independent Business proposing to abolish the IRS tax codes by 2001.
