There are 700 seasonal employees at the Covington IRS office who enter data from taxpayer returns into a central computer. It takes 250 keystrokes to enter a 1040 form.
To help the IRS quickly process your return, IRS officials and tax preparers suggest doing the following before mailing:
Attach all W-2s and other required forms.
Take advantage of all available deductions and credits.
Use the correct Social Security numbers.
Double-check the math.
Sign all forms.
Tax forms can be picked up at the IRS Service Center, 200 W. Fourth St., Covington until 6 tonight.
