If all goes as planned by the end of today, two more streets will have closed as part of Cincinnati's two biggest ongoing public works projects.
If the weather is good, the section of Mehring Way between Central Avenue and Stadium Drive will close, said Steve Bailey, city traffic engineer. That closing is the result of Hamilton County's construction of the Bengals' $400.3 million football stadium complex.
The section of Central Avenue between Mehring Way and Third Street was converted to two-way Monday to improve traffic flow, he said.
In addition, John Street, north of Fourth Street, was permanently closed Monday as part of the city's $146.9 million overhaul of Fort Washington Way, according to Jeff Wallace with Parsons Brinckerhoff Ohio, the project designer.
