Big-name performers at Ky. fair

FORT MITCHELL -- Singing stars LeAnn Rimes and Bryan White will perform concerts next month at the Kentucky State Fair.

The fair, which runs Aug. 20-30 at the Kentucky Fair Grounds and Exposition Center in Louisville, plans to bring artists such as Miss Rimes, Mr. White and Vince Gill to Freedom Hall, while Tim McGraw and Savage Garden perform at Cardinal Stadium.

New events include the Southern Gospel Music Showcase Aug. 26 and a contest for the ugliest lamp.

This year's concert lineup ranges from country to pop for six evenings of concerts. So far, the schedule is:

  • Aug. 20: LeAnn Rimes and Bryan White
  • Aug. 21: To be announced
  • Aug. 22: Vince Gill and Patty Loveless
  • Aug. 28: Tim McGraw (at Cardinal Stadium)
  • Aug. 29: Savage Garden (at Cardinal Stadium)
  • Aug. 30: Wynonna and Sawyer Brown

All shows will be at 8 p.m.

Tickets are $18.50 and go on sale July 11 at the Freedom Hall Ticket Office and through TicketMaster.
