A 4-year-old boy critically burned in a fire set by his sister two months ago has died.
Jomaco Thomas, who had burns covering 90 percent of his body, died Thursday morning at Shriners Burns Institute.
His grandmother, Paulette Thomas, had rescued her three grandchildren from the burning row house in Over-the-Rhine on May 6 and hoped that they'd all recover.
The girls did. Mykya Thomas, 8, had suffered burns to her shoulders, face and arms. Shalinda Thomas, 6, was treated for minor smoke inhalation. The children had been in an attic bedroom watching cartoons when Shalinda started the fire with a lighter she was playing with under her brother's bed.
Their grandmother ran up from watching TV downstairs when she heard the smoke detector.
