A Hamilton County jury found former Harrison police chief Thomas Keenan not guilty Friday of domestic violence, his lawyer said.
A municipal court jury deliberated all day Friday before clearing the veteran cop, said Mr. Keenan's attorney, Firooz Namei. Mr. Keenan's career unraveled in 1997 after a series of investigations and criminal charges.
Mr. Keenan had been charged with domestic violence after his daughter, Amy Keenan-Byrd, said he threw a phone at her in 1997.
The former police chief will stand trial for a second time in common pleas court on charges that he fondled and raped a female subordinate. A September retrial is set on rape charges after a Hamilton County jury could not reach a conclusion in June.
A $5 million civil lawsuit Mr. Keenan filed against the city of Harrison and several city officials is still pending.
