Council seeks money for job training

Hoping to help some of Cincinnati's most difficult residents to employ, several city council members propose a $400,000 jump-start for the Cincinnati Employment and Training Center.

"With the plight of joblessness in some of the neighborhoods . . . and low unemployment in general, we cannot afford to miss the incredible employment opportunity provided by the reconstruction of Fort Washington Way," stated a report issued by council members supporting the measure.

Jeanette Cissell, Dwight Tillery, Minette Cooper and Charlie Winburn have signed off on the proposal, which would set aside enough money to pay for staffing and computer equipment.
