One man was injured after his car was hit by a Cincinnati police cruiser responding to an emergency call Friday night.
The identities of the victim and the officer were not available Friday as police continued to investigate the crash. The officer was not injured.
According to police, the officer was westbound on Taft Road about 7:30 p.m., responding to a call about a man with a gun, when his cruiser struck the side of a car traveling north on Highland Avenue.
The cruiser had its lights and sirens on at the time of the accident, and witnesses told officers the northbound car it hit had run a red light, police said.
The driver of the northbound car was taken to University Hospital. His injuries didn't appear to be life threatening, police said.
