Police hope arrest ends burglary string

After two months as a fugitive wanted in connection with a violent robbery, Errich Mincy was jailed Thursday in lieu of a $250,000 cash bond.

His arrest Tuesday was a big one for police who are trying to solve a five-month string of similar and increasingly violent robberies. Mr. Mincy, 20, of Kennedy Heights fits the description of suspects in some of the 30 area robberies police have linked to the same group.

For now, Mr. Mincy faces charges of aggravated robbery, aggravated menacing and felony domestic violence.

He allegedly pistol-whipped a clerk, threatened to kill a second clerk and got away with $360. A grand jury could increase the charges. The grand jury's decision on charges is expected by Aug. 28.

Authorities first connected him to the June 12 robbery at J&K Pony Keg in Pleasant Ridge after he allegedly dropped identification at the scene.

Police found him Tuesday in Bond Hill, along with his friend, Kenneth Singleton Jr., 18, of Bond Hill.

Mr. Singleton is charged with obstructing justice, allegedly for driving Mr. Mincy around despite knowing he was a fugitive. Judge Timothy Black of Hamilton County Municipal Court set Mr. Singleton's bond at $100,000.

Mr. Mincy and Mr. Singleton are being held at the Hamilton County Justice Center.

Police are investigating others linked to the robberies. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 352-3040.
