QUESTION: Now that Independent Counsel Kenneth Starr's report has been released, has it changed your opinion of President Clinton?

"A little bit. I thought he was pretty shifty already. Now I just think he's even more so."

-- Patrick Becus, 30,
computer programmer, Corryville

"I pretty much feel the same as I did before. I did not like him before, so my opinion is about the same."

-- Debbie Hemingway, 37,
systems analyst, Hyde Park

"It didn't really change my opinion, but I think they're coming down pretty hard on him with all this . . . and other presidents have been doing things like that before. I know he lied . . . but he's got a life outside the presidency, you know, just like we do outside our jobs. And I think he's doing a good job as the president."

-- Tim Swain, 28,
hotel maintenance worker, Westwood

"It's disappointing. It's very disappointing. I never did like his view on abortion, but I thought he did some good things for Bosnia. I haven't read it (the report), but from what I'm hearing about it, I don't think they should've gotten so explicit. I don't think that was necessary."

-- Mary Ramstetter,
office worker, Cheviot.

"No, my opinion hasn't changed. I was expecting it (the report) to be negative anyway."

-- Tom Canahuate, 38,
journalist, visiting from Rockville, Md.

"It hasn't changed my opinion at all. . . . I was relieved there was nothing worse in the Starr report. . . . There's no doubt he screwed up and what he did was really stupid, but I definitely do not want to see him impeached over this. . . . I just don't think a major crime against the country has been committed. To me, the crime is that we spent $40 million on the investigation."

-- LaVaughn Cottell, 36,
jeweler, Pierce Township
