Curb lanes on Third St. to close

The southern curb lane on Third Street between Vine and Walnut streets will close at 7 a.m. Wednesday. The next most southern lane in that section will close as construction dictates so retaining walls and storm sewer systems can be built for the new Fort Washington Way.

The initial closure should last four to six weeks. After that, the same lanes will close between Race and Vine streets. The one- to two-block closures will continue along Third Street through February or March.

The city plans to keep three lanes open at all times.
