Odd death investigated

Wednesday, September 30, 1998

FORT MITCHELL -- Police are investigating the mysterious case of a woman who died shortly after she was found running in the street over the weekend, claiming someone was trying to kill her.

Angela Hensley stopped an officer in Ludlow about 1:30 p.m. Saturday and said someone was trying to kill her, according to a search warrant filed in Kenton Circuit Court. Police also got other calls about her running down the street and acting as if she were upset.

The officer called for an ambulance, and Ms. Hensley died on the way to a hospital. An autopsy showed fresh injection marks on her skin, leading authorities to think her death might have been drug-related, the warrant said.

Fort Mitchell Detective Tom Loos could not be reached to give more details on whether police think Ms. Hensley could have injected herself or whether someone else gave her the drugs.

Earlier Saturday, a little before 10 a.m., Fort Mitchell police responded to a house on Fortside Circle after someone called 911 and reported a fight there. They found drugs, syringes and blood on the carpet, according to the warrant.

Later, police found out from Ms. Hensley's mother that she was living with her boyfriend in the same Fortside house, the warrant said.

Investigators also found what they think was Ms. Hensley's underwear in the bathroom at 1911 Fortside, as well as blood in the bathroom sink, according to the warrant.

Ms. Hensley had severe bruising around her wrists and ankles, and officers also were looking for a leather restraint in the house, the warrant said.
