ST. LOUIS -- A cab driver was charged Wednesday in the killing of a Madisonville man who had traveled to St. Louis to see a Cardinals baseball game.
Tyrone Small, 49, of St. Louis County, faces charges of first- degree murder and armed criminal action. The charges stem from the death of 50-year-old Michael Caposela. Mr. Small remains jailed in St. Louis.
Mr. Caposela was found shot to death beneath a bridge in downtown St. Louis. A companion told police that he and Mr. Caposela had attended the Sept. 14 Cardinals game. Mr. Caposela left the game early to go gambling at a riverboat casino downtown. His body was found the next morning.
Mr. Small, a driver for Yellow Cabs, was dispatched to the hotel where Mr. Caposela was staying, police said. The details were not being released, but police said robbery appeared to be the motive.
