Delhi Twp. man arrested in killing

Saturday, October 10, 1998

BY PHILLIP PINA
The Cincinnati Enquirer

A Delhi Township woman was killed in the residence of her estranged husband Friday morning. He has been arrested and faces a murder charge.

Robin Rueve, 29, who lived in an apartment building in the 700 block of Neeb Road, was pronounced dead Friday at Franciscan West Hospital. Cincinnati police said she died of "homicidal violence," but gave no further details.

Investigators said that about 7:30 a.m., they were called to the home of Timothy Rueve, 25, of 4036 W. Liberty St. in Price Hill. Court records said Mrs. Rueve's body was discovered inside the residence.

The couple had been separated for several months, friends and neighbors said. She had moved to the Delhi apartment, and he moved back in with his family.

They described the Rueves as polite and quiet. Neighbors were shocked to hear about the killing Friday night. Mr. Rueve had talked about getting his life back in order and had lost some weight. He also talked about a new job.

Mrs. Rueve worked in the commercial loan department at a downtown Cincinnati insurance firm. She had two children, one with Mr. Rueve, and would often take the children to the house he shared with his parents while she went to work, said a co-worker who asked not to be identified.

She had done that on Friday morning, the co-worker said.

Mr. Rueve has been declared a suicide risk and was being watched carefully at Hamilton County Justice Center Friday night, court records said. He told an officer he wanted to die.

Mr. Rueve is scheduled to be arraigned at 9 a.m. today.

Cincinnati police ask that anyone with information about the death call Crimestoppers at 352-3040, or the police homicide unit at 352-3542. Callers may remain anonymous.
