Blood donors get deal on "Dracula'

Tuesday, October 13, 1998

MIDDLETOWN -- Give some blood and have a date with Dracula -- at the ballet, that is.

Here's how it works. Donors who give blood to the Community Blood Center (CBC) in Dayton, Springfield or Middletown this month will receive a two-for-one ticket certificate from Dayton Ballet. Take the certificate to the Dayton Ballet box office and buy one adult ticket for Stuart Sebastian's Dracula and you can get another one for free.

"We were looking for a way to help CBC recover from its recent blood shortage," said Beth Common, director of resource development and marketing at Dayton Ballet. "The theme of Dracula fits very well as a fun way to promote blood donations during the Halloween season."

Tickets may be used for the midnight performance Oct. 30 or the matinee at 4:30 p.m. Nov. 1. Quantities are limited to the availability of tickets to selected performances.

Eligible blood donors must be at least 17, weigh a minimum of 110 pounds and be in good physical health. Donors must bring a CBC Donor ID card or other identification showing a Social Security number.

For information about donating blood or to schedule an appointment, call the Middletown CBC, 727-1995.

For information about tickets to Dracula, call the Dayton Ballet, (937) 449-5060.
