CAMPAIGN NOTEBOOK
Architects to hold stadium forum

Tuesday, October 20, 1998

The Cincinnati Chapter of the American Institute of Architects will host a forum Oct. 27 on the stadium siting debate.

The group has invited out-of-town urban planning experts to hear presentations from proponents of Broadway Commons and the riverfront ballpark sites.

The experts will be asked to comment on the presentations.

The forum will be 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Mercantile Library, 414 Walnut St., downtown. The public is welcome.

Chamber presentations

The Greater Cincinnati Chamber of Commerce will host two free breakfast presentations in the coming days on the chamber's vision for Cincinnati's central riverfront.

Chamber President John Williams will conduct the presentations. The first will be Thursday in the chamber's presentation center, 300 Carew Tower, 441 Vine St., downtown. The second will be Monday at the TriHealth Fitness and Health Pavilion, 6200 Pfeiffer Road, Blue Ash.

Each presentation will run from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m., with a free continental breakfast at 7:15 a.m. Mr. Williams will speak about the riverfront and then take questions.

The board of trustees of the chamber voted Sept. 28 to support a new Reds ballpark on the riverfront and urged voters to reject Issue 11, which would favor the Broadway Commons site at Broadway and Reading Road.

For reservations, e-mail Debbie Lahmann at dlahmanngccc.com or call her at the chamber at 579-3162.

Campaign Notebook is compiled by staff of The Cincinnati Enquirer and runs Tuesday-Saturday.
