MIDDLETOWN -- Police are investigating the death of a 90-year-old woman who was found dead in her home this week.
The death of Cora A. Little, 508 Aberdeen Drive, is being considered "an unattended death," but abnormal discoveries have police looking for answers.
"It was an unattended death with some unusual circumstances that are not normally attributed to a death by natural causes," said Middletown Police Lt. Don Owens. "I can't reveal details at this point because we're still investigating. There are just some things we need to check out."
There were no signs of foul play, robbery or assault, he said. However, investigators found overturned furniture and items that appeared to have been pushed off her bed.
She had no close relatives or friends, Lt. Owens said.
An autopsy was performed Wednesday, but results were not released. The letter carrier reported to police that something might be amiss when he saw that she wasn't picking up her mail, which had accumulated for several days.
Mrs. Little appeared to have been dead three or four days, Lt. Owens said.
