Cincinnati Public Schools' facilities master plan recommends that 19 schools be closed, 12 of them to be replaced with new buildings; and five other new schools added. Here is a look at what is recommended for each building:
Academy of World Languages: Renovate as kindergarten-through-grade-8 magnet school (fundamental academy or Montessori).
Anderson Place: Renovate and expand as K-8 neighborhood school; maintain elementary college preparatory program.
Bloom: Close and send students to renovated Hays - Porter, Heberle or new Washburn.
Bond Hill: Renovate and expand as K-8 neighborhood school.
Bramble: Renovate and expand as K-8 neighborhood school.
Burton: Renovate as K-8 neighborhood school.
Carson: Renovate and expand as K-8 neighborhood school.
Carthage: Renovate as K-8 Paideia magnet school.
Central Fairmount: Renovate and expand as pre-K-8 neighborhood school.
Chase: Renovate as K-8 neighborhood school.
Cheviot: Renovate and expand as K-8 neighborhood school.
Clifton: Renovate and expand as K-8 neighborhood school.
College Hill: Renovate as K-8 Fundamental Academy magnet school.
Covedale: Renovate and expand as K-8 neighborhood school; maintain college preparatory program.
Crest Hills: Renovate as K-8; maintain as year-round school.
Dater: Renovate as neighborhood school; develop as a campus, adding new pre-K-6 building.
Douglass: Renovate as K-8 neighborhood school.
Eastern Hills: Renovate as pre-K-8 foreign language magnet school.
Eastwood: Renovate and expand as K-8 Paideia magnet or renovate as K-6 Paideia magnet.
Fairview: Replace with a new K-8 German language magnet school.
Gamble: Renovate and expand as K-8 neighborhood school.
Hartwell: Renovate and expand as K-8 neighborhood school.
Hays: Combine with Porter and renovate into pre-K-8 neighborhood school.
Heberle: Renovate as pre-K-8 neighborhood school.
Heinold: Replace with new K-8 foreign language magnet school.
Hoffman: Renovate and expand as pre-K-8 neighborhood school.
Hyde Park: Renovate or send students to pre-K-8 neighborhood school at Peoples.
Jacobs Center: Renovate as K-8 neighborhood school; send students to Quebec Heights CAMAS and Paideia schools.
Kilgour: Renovate or expand as K-8 neighborhood school.
Kirby Road: Renovate as K-8 neighborhood school.
Linwood: Close and send students to K-8 magnet site or McKinley.
Losantiville: Renovate as pre-K-8 neighborhood school.
McKinley: Replace with a new pre-K-8 neighborhood school, if site can be found in the area; otherwise, renovate as pre-K-8 school.
Midway: Renovate and expand as K-8 neighborhood school.
Millvale: Replace with new pre-K-8 neighborhood school.
Mount Airy: Renovate as pre-K-8 neighborhood school.
Mount Washington: Renovate and expand as K-8 neighborhood school; maintain elementary college preparatory program.
North Avondale: Renovate and expand as pre-K-8 Montessori magnet school.
North Fairmount: Replace with new pre-K-8 neighborhood school.
Oyler: Renovate as pre-K-8 neighborhood school.
Parham: Renovate as pre-K-8 neighborhood school.
Peoples: Renovate as pre-K-8 neighborhood school.
Pleasant Hill: Renovate as pre-K-8 neighborhood school; maintain elementary college preparatory program.
Pleasant Ridge: Replace with new pre-K-8 neighborhood school in Pleasant Ridge.
Porter: Combine with Hayes and renovate into pre-K-8 neighborhood school.
Project Succeed: Renovate, remain as K-8 Project Succeed program.
Quebec Heights: Renovate as K-8 CAMAS magnet school.
Roberts: Renovate as K-8 Paideia magnet school.
Rockdale: Renovate and expand as pre-K-8 neighborhood school with a Paideia focus.
Roosevelt: Close and send students to new Millvale or renovated Oyler.
Roselawn-Condon: Renovate as a pre-K-8 neighborhood school; maintain elementary college preparatory program.
Rothenberg: Close and send students to a new neighborhood school north of Liberty Street and - or a new neighborhood school south of Liberty Street.
Sands: Renovate as a pre-K-8 Montessori magnet or move to east-side site.
Sayler Park: Renovate and expand as pre-K-8 neighborhood school. Schiel: Close and move students to new K-12 magnet school at SCPA.
Schwab: Renovate as pre-K-8 Montessori magnet school.
SCPA: Renovate as K-12 citywide foreign language magnet school for Academy of World Languages; send students to K-12 SCPA near Music Hall.
Shroder: Renovate as K-8 neighborhood school or renovate as grades 7-8 magnet.
Silverton: Renovate as K-8 neighborhood school with a Paideia focus.
South Avondale: Renovate and expand as pre-K-8 neighborhood school.
Swifton: Close and send students to Losantiville, Roselawn-Condon or Bond Hill.
Taft Elementary: Renovate and expand as pre-K-8 neighborhood school.
Vine: Replace with new K-8 neighborhood school north of Liberty Street.
Washburn: Replace with new K-8 neighborhood school.
Washington Park: Replace with new K-8 neighborhood school.
Westwood: Renovate and expand as K-8 neighborhood school.
Whittier: Renovate as K-8 neighborhood school.
Whittier Annex: Close and send students to neighborhood schools in the area.
Windsor: Replace with new pre-K-8 neighborhood school in the same area.
Winton Montessori: Renovate as pre-K-8 neighborhood school with a Montessori focus.
Winton Place: Replace with new pre-K-8 neighborhood school.
Woodford: Renovate and expand as K-8 Paideia magnet school or renovate as K-6 Paideia magnet school.
Create four new K-8 neighborhood schools in Fairview - University Heights, East Price Hill, West Price Hill and between College Hill and Mount Airy.
Create a new pre-K-8 magnet school on the west side.
