SPRINGDALE -- Police interviewed a man Tuesday in connection with their search for someone who had sexual contact with an 8-year-old boy in a department store restroom, but no arrest has been made in the case.
Police are searching for a man who touched the boy in the men's room at the Value City Store on Kemper Road on Sunday afternoon while the boy's mother waited for him outside the restroom.
The boy was in a restroom stall when a man came in, "touched him in his genital area and asked (the boy) if he wanted to come with him. The boy got upset and came screaming out of the restroom to his mother," police Detective Sgt. Bill Fields said.
The man was able to leave the store without being apprehended by store security, police said. He was captured on tape by a video camera.
Police are looking for a white male, about 20, 6 feet tall and thin. He had a mustache and a couple of days' growth of beard. He was wearing a gray T-shirt, black pants and black Nike gym shoes.
Anyone with information should call Springdale police at 346-5760.
