LEBANON -- A Franklin High School student accused of phoning in a bomb threat last month that led to the evacuation of the building has admitted his role.
The 17-year-old boy changed his denial plea to an admission on an inducing panic charge, a fourth-degree felony.
He made the plea during a pretrial hearing last week in Warren County Juvenile Court, assistant county prosecutor Andy Sievers said Thursday.
His case has been set for disposition, the juvenile equivalent of sentencing, on Nov. 5.
Another student, also 17, was charged with complicity to felony inducing panic for his alleged involvement. He maintained his denial of the charge during a pretrial hearing Thursday in juvenile court, Mr. Sievers said.
No date has been set yet for trial in that case.
The threat was made Oct. 1 from a pay phone in the school and was determined to be a hoax.
A student in the school office received the bomb threat shortly before noon. The school was safely evacuated.
Classes were disrupted about two hours while the school was checked, and students were dismissed about 10 minutes early.
