Fairfield man again faces sex charges

Wednesday, November 4, 1998

BY JANICE MORSE
The Cincinnati Enquirer

A Fairfield man who served seven years in prison for aggravated burglary and rape faces charges that he asked teen-age girls for sex-related acts in exchange for cigarettes or money.

Dana Goins, 50, who last listed an address on Billy Circle in Fairfield, is scheduled to appear Monday in Hamilton Municipal Court on two counts of compelling prostitution.

He was released after posting 10 percent of a $10,000 bond.

The charges stem from an incident Saturday afternoon. Hamilton police arrested him after finding him with two girls, ages 14 and 17, in his car at Erie Highway and Maple Avenue, a report says.

The girls told police Mr. Goins offered to give cigarettes or money to them if they exposed parts of their bodies or performed oral sex on him, said Sgt. Tom Kilgour, Hamilton police spokesman.

Fairfield police also are investigating the incident; more charges are possible, Fairfield Police Sgt. Ed Roberts said Tuesday.

Mr. Goins served about seven years of a five-to-25-year sentence for a 1981 Butler County rape and aggravated burglary conviction, the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction said.

He was released from the Ohio prison system in April 1988, but was returned to prison as a parole violator six months later after being convicted of public indecency in Hamilton. He was paroled in March 1989 and successfully completed conditions of his parole in April 1991.
