Design a poster for 1999 Cammy Awards

Wednesday, November 11, 1998

BY ANN HICKS
The Cincinnati Enquirer

Attention music lovers and artists. We're planning for the 1999 Cincinnati Area Pop Music (Cammy) Awards and are looking for an image for our poster.

The Cammys honor local musicians in 30 categories, from funk to country to modern rock. This is the third year for the awards. We're looking for an image that ties Cincinnati to its rich musical heritage. Something that says music in the Queen City. Entries may be in any art form. Finished size: 7 by 7 1/2 inches.

The $10 entry fee (tax deductible) will be donated to the Michael W. Bany Memorial Scholarship Fund, which furthers music education in Greater Cincinnati by aiding needy music students during their college years. Mr. Bany was a local musician who was murdered in December 1995 after a performance in Over-the-Rhine.

An Enquirer artist will place the winning entry on the poster, which will include information about the show and the list of performers. The image also will be used on the Cammy program, published in Weekend March 12 and handed out at the March 14 show.

Prizes: The winner will receive four free tickets and a limo ride to the Cammys plus a selection of CDs by Cammy winners.

Checks must be made payable to the Michael W. Bany Memorial Scholarship Fund. Send checks and entries along with your name, address and daytime telephone number to:
