Donations for food, medicine and clothing for Central America are being accepted by:

  • Fundacion Maria - write in care of Gustavo Ardila, vice president, Nations Bank Tower, 30th Floor, 100 SE Second St., Miami 33131.

  • Sisters of St. Joseph Medaille - Central Office, 1821 Summit Road, No. 207, Cincinnati 45237-2819.

  • Catholic Relief Services - Box 17090, Baltimore 21203-7093; credit-card donations at (800) 736-3467.

  • Assemblies of God in Ohio - call the Rev. Hugh Rosenberg, (513) 874-8575.

  • Matthew 25: Ministries - call (513) 561-1339 or write Box 526, Milford 45150.

  • Church World Service- the relief agency of the National Council of Churches - (800) 762-0968. Credit card and check donations.

  • Chiquita Brands International Inc. - Hurricane Mitch Food and Clothing Drive, to collect non-perishable foods, linens and summer clothing; 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday, and 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday in front of the Chiquita Center, Fifth and Sycamore streets downtown. Company will ship donated items to Central America.

  • Hurricane Mitch Relief Fund - established at Provident Bank. Donations also can be sent to the Hurricane Mitch Relief Fund, Chiquita Center, 250 E. Fifth St., 29th floor, Cincinnati 45202.
