Child stalker gets 180 days

Friday, November 13, 1998

A man accused of stalking children outside an elementary school was sentenced Thursday to 180 days in jail.

Municipal Court Judge Timothy Black also ordered Wayne Halker to serve five years' probation after his release, including one year on the county's home incarceration program.

Mr. Halker, 30, was arrested last month on a misdemeanor charge of menacing by stalking.

Police said he stalked children near the St. Lawrence School in Price Hill.

Shortly before his arrest, the principal at the school sent home a letter with students warning parents that a man had been seen outside the school videotaping and following children.
