Pursued by police, man crashes, dies

Monday, November 16, 1998

BY The Cincinnati Enquirer

ANDERSON TOWNSHIP - A 32-year-old Clermont County man who was reportedly fleeing a police officer was killed early Sunday when he lost control of his car on the ramp from westbound U.S. 52 to Kellogg Avenue and crashed into a guardrail.

Gregory D. Jackson, 32, of Blossom Lane, Union Township, died at University Hospital after the 1:24 a.m. crash, the Hamilton County Sheriff's Department said.

A New Richmond police officer had tried to stop Mr. Jackson's 1998 Ford Mustang for traffic violations on U.S. 52, but the driver refused to stop and continued driving into Anderson Township. The driver lost control of the car on the ramp to Kellogg Avenue, went off the south side of the road and struck a sign, then went off the north side of the road and struck the guardrail.

The driver was thrown from the vehicle.
