  • Gene Surprenant has been named general manager of landfill operations at Rumpke Consolidated Cos. Mr. Surprenant will oversee operations of all the Rumpke landfills throughout Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana. He was district manager of the Rumpke-operated CDI Landfill in Worthington, Ind.

  • Bradley K. Johnston has joined Dinsmore & Shohl LLP as an attorney in the Cincinnati office.

  • Paul T. Teismann has joined Diversified Brokerage Specialists as a brokerage manager.

  • Dr. Kathryn Anne Weichert has been named medical director for Hospice of United Home Care - The Visiting Nurse Association.

  • Robert J. Marino, president of Convergys Information Management Group, has been appointed to the World Affairs Council of America.

  • Appointed to the board of trustees at the Work Resource Center: Mark Daly, chief executive officer, On Target Media Inc.; M. Julia Hanser, president and chief executive officer, Mercy Health Partners; Gary D. Thompson, president, OKI Systems; Ray Warrick, president, United Air Specialists Inc.; and Tim Young, vice president, human resources, Hillshire Farm & Kahn's.   • Richard R. McKee has been named assistant principal at Lockland High School for the 1998-99 school year.

  • Douglas E. Hunter has been named partner at Arthur Andersen, Cincinnati. Mr. Hunter joined the company in 1985. He graduated from the University of Kentucky with a bachelor of science degree in accounting.
